Ray Bradbury's Recipe For Liquid Pizza
This recipe originally appeared in The Vegetarian Times. It doesn't sound appealing to us, but Ray Bradbury claims to have enjoyed this recipe for decades.
Ingredients:
- 1 can Campbell's Tomato Soup
- 1 lb. soda crackers
- salt
- 1 quart milk
- 1 pint half-and-half
Instructions:
Pour can of soup into a large pot.
Add milk instead of water as instructed on the can.
Begin to heat soup.
As soup warms to a boil, add 1/4 lb. of crumbled soda crackers.
Add a little half-and-half as you stir (don't overdo the stirring).
When the soup is ready to serve, there should be a thick crust on the top and you should be able to stand a spoon up in it.
Make a furrow down the middle with your spoon. Do the sides cave in immediately? If so, add more crackers.
Ray's Liquid Pizza is now ready to eat! As you eat, feel free to add more half-and-half to taste.
